Time to See FHSD Students Winning Again

Updated: Apr 10

children are jumping

This year’s school board candidates were remarkably transparent, and FHSD voters responded in kind. We cast our ballots with our eyes wide open—and left no question. We want better for our students. Our community is ready to invest in students again—to prioritize learning, restore trust in quality education, and refocus on the programs and resources that give every child a chance to thrive.

To those who are disappointed by this outcome, we’ve been in your shoes before. Please know that each of you is deserving of a place in this community. We understand that your perspective is an inextricable part of our schools. We invite you to lean into the awkward and challenging work of finding common ground. You are welcome in our spaces, digital and otherwise. Please seek us out. Share your experiences. Because this is where the real work begins. Civil dialogue isn’t just a nice idea—it’s how we move forward, together.

We call on the new board majority to lead and to model how we resolve differences in the spaces we all share. Together, let us offer our children that best version of ourselves. If we choose unity, Amy and Sarah's victory can be a win for all Francis Howell families.

With deep love and gratitude—

Amy, Courtney, Jamie, and Marissa
